How Quickly they Grow!

This is a sponsored conversation brought to you by the Center for Parent and Teen Communication.  All opinions are my own.

Then

You are the boy that made me a Mom. I held you until you fell asleep every night for a year. You had a crazy crawl that was reserved for the hardwood floors. It was an innovative solution from a 6-month old to save your little knees. You spent hours perfecting your technique for spinning your baby food jar lids on the table while we all watched in amazement at your dexterity. You patiently tried to teach me how to do it, and I couldn’t replicate it, no matter how hard I tried. Destined to be a big brother, you earned the nickname “The Commander” from birth.

Now

You are a big reason why our family works so well. You love everyone in your life with intensity – especially your siblings. Your patience with your little sister- whether you are reading to her, building her a lego, or fixing her a snack – never ceases to amaze me. Your need for Mom snuggles has never gone away. You are my go-to guy for figuring out technology around our house and have the same patience you had as a baby when you teach me how to use the remote control for the 1,000th time. You are my partner in crime for planning everything from travel to holidays, and someone I always know I can count on.

It has gone so quickly, and sometimes it makes me sad. Even this video made me tear up a little.

The Center for Parent and Teen Communication is a new resource to help parents that are navigating the teen years. You can check out this article from Dr. Ginsburg to get an idea of the type of advice you will find. It is crazy how you can look back at babyhood and see a lot of the same traits in your teen today.
